Has New York or Los Angeles in the US opened Covid vaccination to tourists?

I'm asking on behalf of a friend in case anyone knows (obviously this changes daily).

Also, if any of these two states are vaccinating tourists, do you know if the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is being offered?

Thanks!

Thanks @IndigoC

Yes, it appears every state has its own rules.

It will be a case of following developments closely.

Genuine question, why would a state vaccinate a tourist ? Surely the onus is on the tourist to be vaccinated before they travel?

To encourage tourism in tourism-dependent areas. I know that’s why Alaska is doing it. The Maldives was talking about implementing something similar.

Each state is responsible for the purchase and distribution of their own vaccine supply. The best place to check is the department of health website for the state in question.

@marigoldflower See here for a map of states offering vaccines to non-residents: www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/map-these-states-are-opening-vaccinations-people-out-state-n1264523

Tourists in this country have been vaccinated as well

"Not safe until we're all safe" -- Snowbirds visiting FL got vaccinated from January onwards. The precedent is to just get it out there to anyone present & willing.
