Hi,

I had my first vaccination in March (mid 30's...so no idea why) and I've just got called up for my second at the weekend, but we have a weekend away planned. First since the pandemic! Can I wait to be called up again or do I need to contact someone?

TIA

You can manage your booking on the site

KaleJuicer · 18/05/2021 13:18

Cancel and rebook

I would call them back and ask for a different date. You won't be the only person unable to attend the allocated appointment, I'm sure.

They won't leave you without a second dose.

It depends how it was booked, if it was via the NHS website you should be able to change it. If it was booked via your GP that will be harder to change. Our GP and the vaccination centre have said they won’t change appointments u less it’s a very very good reason- holidays and social occasions are not included in that.

We very neatly had this problem and dh and I decided we would miss the first day of our break if it happened.

They won't leave you without a second dose.. True but our Drs said it could be weeks before a meeting appt was given.

You can’t just not appear. The temperature sensitive nature of the doses haven’t gone away. While local supply issues have eased, you need to think about this on a global scale. If you don’t cancel, that potentially wasted dose is one that could have gone to someone, somewhere.

I don't know. Luckily dd was called for her 2nd dose this Thursday. We were worried it might be last Thursday as she had an important event at college last week.

Sorry, I don't think I was clear in my OP.

I got an invite for my first jab via text from my GP surgery. It was one day with loads of slots to choose from. This was exactly the same, except this time I am not around on the one available day.

I haven't got an appointment. I just can't take the ones that are offered.
