Is any data available of people in hospital with Covid (or dead) who are already vaccinated

Because 3 weeks ago they said that no one had died of Covid if they had been vaccinated Confused

So has this changed ???

Please note: died OF Covid, not died WITH Covid - as obviously there's loads of really elderly people who are dying normally anyway if they're 80+

Matt Hancock said that there’s something like 18 people in hospital in Bolton, of whom 5 have had one dose and one has had two. Sorry can’t find the article although I read it only an hour ago!

Are you just asking about the India variant after having vaccine in this country?

Or

Dead of any variant after having the vaccine in this country?

Or

Dead of any variant anywhere in the world after having the vaccine?

There are a low proportion of breakthrough covid infections and an even lower proportion who then get hospitalised or sadly die. The number in the UK or US who have died from an infection caught more than 2 weeks after their second dose are not enough as yet to move the figure of deaths from 0% to 0.001%. There have been more deaths than that from people who were infected just before vaccination, but it doesn't seem helpful to count them before the known period passes in which people are developing immunity.
India put hospitalization down at 0.06% after vaccination, so the India variant looks to be at a similar very low level: www.indiatoday.in/amp/coronavirus-outbreak/story/chances-of-hospitalisation-covid-vaccination-study-1803108-2021-05-16.

Great, thank you all so much !

It continues to look like we're not at risk AT ALL if we get far enough away from being vaccinated with at least one dose

It's literally the same as 3 weeks ago - but an extra lot of fear being generated

That's extremely helpful MRex, thanks for posting

There will be deaths of vaccinated people of cases get high, I don't want to give too much optimism, and small percentages turn into large numbers... But so far vaccines are very helping.

*helpful
I get illiterate from my phone's auto-incorrect, sorry.
