Can you use supermarket toilets?

I have to drive to north Wales today for work, I'm 6 months pregnant and it only occurred to me today that I probably won't be able to make it through the drive there and back without going the loo.

Are the supermarkets allowing customers to use their toilets?

I'm in north west end England and I've used the supermarket toilet in absolute desperation.

Yes in my experience 😊 I have also needed many a pregnancy wee in supermarkets recently!

Should add I'm in South Wales but can't see why it would differ from here.

I don't know if things are different in Wales but access to a loo is a pretty basic right in the UK. I'd be surprised if they were shut. In many supermarkets the staff and customers use the same toilets as there aren't separate staff ones.

Also to say that services are fully open so you can go there too.

Yes I’ve been back driving with my job and certainly Asda and Sainsbury’s are, also service stations and drive by Starbucks etc. I have to find toilet stops if I know I’m driving more than 3 hours otherwise I’d have an accident!

Supermarket toilets have been open for ages, I'm not sure they ever closed.

Might be worth checking local council websites, as ours has made it clear throughout which are open. If you're likely to go into a shopping centre, some of taking part in a scheme whereby they're making their toilets available to people who won't be buying anything - John Lewis here is one, we have another department store as well taking part.
