I think Boris doesn't mind if he fucks up as he knows large swathes of England will still vote for him?

He seems Teflon coated and christ only knows why.
The borders were left open too long and now we have the Indian varient here.
I suspect old Boris isnt too happy, but not overly worried, as he knows even if he killed his granny an awful lot of people in England would still vote for him.

And i guess people vote for him in Scotland, Wales and NI too...but not as much as in England.

You are right. They have fallen for the rhetoric of the press. Sadly either they will benefit because they are quite well off or they believe they will be worse of under another party despite the reality. People often aren't good at analysing facts.

I think you're right, and serious pundits agree we've got him or his successor for years.

Lucidas · 14/05/2021 23:43

Of course they will vote for him. People will rant and rage about how ‘they’ are deliberately keeping us in lockdown, but ‘they’ is never this Tory government, apparently. Boris is their friend and can do no wrong. It’s all the fault of ‘scientists’.

Its depressing labour are in such a mess, there's no opposition to him.

No one in NI votes for him. I suppose they might if they had the opportunity, but they don't (have the opportunity) 🤷‍♀️

Yes. This attitude of ‘we support the government in the decisions it takes during the pandemic’ hasn’t gone down very well.

I think every leader needs effective opposition.

And he has a majority of about 80, so even when 50 or 60 of his own party disagree with him, it doesnt seem to be enough some times.

I am a tory voter but would like to have a good opposition, you need a good opposition to have a good government, keep them on their toes so to speak.
