Hi

I caught Covid at Christmas, so not sure it is connected.

Over the last few weeks I’ve had numbness in my arms and legs at night and quite a lot of tingling. I had my first vaccine four weeks ago.

I’ve spoken to the doctor and I’m being referred for blood tests. However wondered if there was anyone else who had had similar? Thanks

No I haven't but hope it gets followed up for you Flowers

I hope you get well soon.

What is your GP checking for? Diabetes and Hypothyroidism can both cause numbness; post-covid there have been cases of new onset diabetes so that will hopefully be checked quickly for you.

Blood tests today and reading the cover sheet for vitamin deficiency, thyroid and liver.

Is there an HbA1C test? That's the one for diabetes. If not and your tests don't find anything, ask the GP for that next.

@MRex yes there is. Thanks.

Hopefully the tests will narrow it down for you. Good luck

@Queenofbeebers I know this was a little while ago but, just wondered if this was resolved? I'm 3 weeks post first symptoms of a mild case of covid.
Started with a little tingling sensation in knees and calves and wondered if it was related? TIA

BigotSpigot · 29/12/2021 11:38

I am on a group for people who had adverse reactions to the vaccines (I am unfortunately one of them) and tingling and numbness is incredibly common and usually resolves but can take months.

Talith · 29/12/2021 11:40

I had muscle twitching at night and an odd lack of sensation in my limbs (like they weren't there) post vaccine. It's mostly worn off but did take months.

Yes I had this last night, tingling in the arms and hands and numbness, started reading lots late at night and getting myself into a state. Woke up fine and so far all fine again. Thinking I’d better monitor this a bit more closely now. Had my booster 8 days ago. Also became Covid positive 7 days ago. So no idea which is the cause.

LessTime · 29/12/2021 18:09

I have this but it started before COVID and definitely not related to either COVID or the COVID vaccines. I’m seeing a neurologist at the moment but still don’t know what it is. It’s painful but not agonizing.

FavouriteMug · 29/12/2021 18:11

I've had same plus crushing fatigue.

I did have this god awful cough/flu type thing that wasn't covid though (neg LFT)

So assuming it's a post viral thingy

BeLessMe · 29/12/2021 18:13

My tingling/numbness was a vitamin B12 deficiency.
Hopefully it’s something simple like that.

nixpix · 29/12/2021 19:49

I had covid in November 2020, before vaccines were available and one of my symptoms was pins and needles in my hands, arms and back. It continued for months after and I spoke to the doctor at the long covid clinic and he said it was caused by nerve inflammation. I had bloods done too to rule out other causes.

Chummy21 · 29/12/2021 19:59

All these replies are really reassuring. I've been getting into a complete state with different things I've felt.

@LessTime hope the neurologist helps and you get answers soon.

DustyMaiden · 29/12/2021 20:00

B12 deficiency would cause that. It drops after infection.

LessTime · 29/12/2021 21:34

@Chummy21 Thank you 😊

My dd(13) had the 1st Pfizer jab on 22nd Oct. About 5 days later she had a bit of difficulty in breathing. Then pins and needles/tingling in arms/legs, headache, slight temperature, tummy ache/ difficulty walking. Soon she needed help in even standing up. Went to emergency many times with her and to GP. Blood test only showed very low vitamin D for which now we are giving her a very high dose. Drs can’t find what’s wrong with her. They have said it’s probably side effects of vaccine or maybe she had covid or some other infection.
Now she can walk for a while but is soon exhausted and still has headaches and pain in legs. She sleeps a lot during the day saying she’s exhausted. She hadn’t been to school since jab but I’m hoping to take her for 1 period a day from January as she is missing out on so much school work.
A neurologist I know said this is the immune system overreacting to the vaccine and he has seen patients like this. He wanted me to get an MRI done for her. Hospital appointment with paediatric section is in February. I tried to have her seen privately but couldn’t get an immediate appointment.

I had numbness and pins and needles in my arms/hands/feet with covid and long covid (March 2020). This had mostly faded away but has got worse again recently after Pfizer booster in Dec.

GoodnightGrandma · 30/12/2021 07:47

I had these symptoms and it was low ferritin. Nothing to do with Covid.
