Sudden asthma diagnosis after AZ vaccine

Long time lurker here. In March I had my first AZ jab. Fine after save for sore arm for a couple of days. Long story short 2 weeks after developed asthma symptoms. Given blue inhaler. Less than 2 weeks later first trip to A&E with it. Have always had hay fever but now seemingly have very severe pollen allergy. GP convinced asthma and not just hay fever now. Few people have queried if asthma caused by COVID jab (I've neither tested positive or had any COVID symptoms). Certainly not anti vaccine (and will indeed have the second jab) but just wondering if anyone else has experience the same? Light smoker and gave up 7 months ago. Not grossly overweight if that helps?

It’s more likely to be related to the mega-high pollen levels this year. I always have hay fever but have just finished 2 back to back courses of steroids because it’s been so bad.

Having said that, no reason why you shouldn’t report it under the yellow card scheme.

People with Severe Hayfever are more likely to develop Adult onset Asthma. Happened to DH too. Rather than talk to random paramedics who clearly don’t know what they’re talking about visit Asthma UK or your local allergy clinic for further guidance. The vaccine isn’t linked to either condition

Thanks @GrumpyHoonMain

OP just because someone is a health professional it doesn't mean they know what they are talking about.

Was the paramedic an allergy specialist or immunologist?

I had my Covid jag in March. Afterwards my asthma got worse for several weeks and my reaction to tree pollen was the worst it’s been for years. Just coincidence I think though. I get my 2nd jag on Tuesday.
