Does the booking website know what my first vaccine was?

I want to book my second jab online. I had my first at my GP surgery (Pfizer). When I log in I can see a list of available locations for my second but I'm not convinced they will all have Pfizer. They are all over 20 miles away and my GP surgery doesn't show up (although has since become an NHS online centre and is bookable by anyone when it has availability). Is there intelligence in the system now to match the vaccine type to an appropriate vaccine centre does anyone know?

Online will only Offer you az. Your gp should get in touch when your next one is due. If you haven't heard by 11 weeks call your gp

I had Pfizer and I've just booked my second appointment on the National booking system. It doesn't say what I will receive for my second dose but it's booked at a pharmacy that currently only offers Pfizer so I assume it's correctly recognised I need Pfizer. I wasn't offered some of the local centres that I know are doing second dose AZ at the moment.

I can see that my medical records have been updated and specifically state the manufacturer of the vaccine so the information is in there and linked to your NHS number.

The position at the moment is that you need to receive the same vaccine second time round so the system simply wouldn't work if it didn't know what you needed to have.

This is completely untrue, the online system will not offer AZ to someone who has had Pfizer, it will offer Pfizer.

I agree with you where you say the GP will get in touch when the second jab is due though.

That's bollocks, I booked online and had Moderna.

I think if you were contacted by your GP for the first dose vaccine then you wait to be contacted again for the second dose? The online system books have 1 & 2 in the same booking session. So they operate a bit differently.

I had my first as a left-over then booked my second online. No problems.

I don’t think you do anymore. Or at least me and my husband were told to use the online system to book our second.

I had my first via my GP, received text message this week (9 weeks after the first) with website link from them to book second. I'd wait until you hear from the GP to avoid potentially wasting your time and/or a vaccine shot.

Bump as I've been wondering this. Have booked second on central NHS site after having local invite and haven't been able to get confirmation yet this (different) location will have Pfizer, though it does seem more sites are in the process of setting up so they can offer it now. With the new advice for younger ages and the increased fridge storage times they've announced. Hoping I can check nearer the time before I travel. When I booked first I was told GP surgery will send a reminder text but not be able to arrange second for me (but this might change, who knows!)

Most places have both now as under 40's being given phizer or the other one. I did a shift vaccinating on sat and had both. It's becoming the norm

Pfizer sorry!!
