Pfizer vaccine for a 39yo

Hi all, I've just been offered appointments for my 1st and 2nd jabs.

I've read online that 38 and 39yos (and those younger presumably) will be offered an alternative to the AZ jab.

Is there any way to find out which vaccine my local vaccination centre will be offering? WIBU to reject the AZ if offered it on the day if they have no alternatives? I called 119 but they only have automated messages and no one to speak to.

Thanks

Some thing here aren't true.

I went to Brighton today and was given Moderna (38). There was another group being given AZ, so they us both in stock, but those under 40 were given Moderna.

I wasn't given a choice but I feel if I had pushed for AZ I may have been given it rather than having to go home - but frankly I'm happy to take whatever I get given.

My 39 year old DH was given the choice at the centre earlier this week. He chose Pfizer and has had no effects at all unlike me who was very ill with Oxford.

@skris11 I’m in Scotland so we don’t get a choice of where to go, just get letter through post with appointment time. Not sure if that differs to down south.

I’m 39 and have just had the Pfizer. I had a letter through the post to attend my local vaccination centre next week which only does the AZ vaccine. However, I got a call yesterday explaining that due to changes in government advice I would need to attend another site where I would get the Pfizer. I’m in Scotland so not sure if that makes a difference.

I'm 35 and had Pfizer yesterday.
