The vaccine booking website is now directing to Moderna / Pfizer sites

For eligible age groups. At least, it looks like that's what happening.

I had my first Pfizer as a walk in with spare doses (pregnant), and have tried to book on the website just now for my second jab - it's only showing vaccination sites that are 30+ miles away, which I assume are the nearest hubs with Pfizer stock. The times are also highly limited (you can only book a week or so in advance), which probably accounts for the unpredictability of stock.

It says on the booking site that under 40s will only be given phyizer or moderna so there's no need to be second guessing where you book, just book what's easiest for you and as an under 40 you'll get one of the other two.

Pharmacies cant administer pzifer due to the temperature it needs to be stored at. They will only be supplied with astrazenica. Good call booking the large hospital hub!

This is no longer the case, many pharmacies are able to do pfizer as are clinics in village halls etc. The initial advice has changed and as long as the doses are used within a certain time frame the defrosted vaccine can be in normal pharmacy type fridges for some time.

I had this problem too. I'm 38 and was able to book online last night and it showed a local site so I rang them but they said they only had AZ! Then I got a text invite from a london hospital so am on my way there now (first time I've been on a train for over a year!) hoping they have Pfizer! I'm doing ivf so will only take it if it's not AZ. It's really frustrating not knowing what you're you're booking!

To update. I was given Pfizer at guys

@seven201 - do you happen to know which Guys Centre you went to? Had the choice of 1 or 2 when I sorted DH's (38) out for Saturday so went with 1.

I went to 2. Just a random selection. I have no idea if it makes any difference. I think probably anyone under 40 gets moderna or Pfizer

I had Pfizer this morning at the Artrix in Bromsgrove.

They were also doing AZ - not sure whether this was only second jabs or for everyone 40+. I wouldn’t risk it if 40+ and keen to avoid AZ.
