Are you pregnant and had the Covid jab? *edited by MNHQ at OP's request*

I'm 37 and 29 weeks pregnant. I've been offered the Covid jab and wanted to know if anyone else has had theirs and if they've been ok (apart from the known side effects)? Has there been any issues with baby or has all been ok?

Had Pfizer at 33 weeks (spare 2nd dose). No side effects other than a sore arm for two days - but then the Pfizer first dose is apparently pretty mild anyway. All well at checkup and 36 week growth scan..

Following - I'm 34 weeks and booked in for the Moderna tomorrow.

Following too. 27 weeks on Thursday and booked in for Pfizer tomorrow. Tried to speak to my GP but couldn't get passed reception. Tried to speak to my consultant but she's on hol and haven't heard back from the stand in. Tried to get hold of midwife but no answer (I expect I'll be able to get hold of her later today as she's usually available).

Spoke to someone on the ward yesterday who was also a vaccinator. She put my mind at rest about taking it quite a bit so currently I'm leaning towards having it. Such a tough one though!

I'm having the Pfizer one on Friday. I've looked online and can't see anything other than people reporting the normal side effects. I phoned the midwife and she just said it was up to me and I needed to do my research. All the forums are either people who've not had it (saying they will or won't get it) or people saying they've had the normal side effects.

How did you manage to get booked in? I spoke to my GP who said that I had to go through the booking service but the booking service doesn’t give me the option to see what vaccines are available.

RowansMammy · 11/05/2021 10:55

@GlubGlubGlub I got a text to book, must just be my time. My partner is getting his too. They seem to be getting through people really quick in my area.

I got the text too, but no option to chose Pfizer or Moderna. When I called 119 they said they couldn’t tell me where the Pfizer or Moderna would be available either.

I had my first one just before I found out I was pregnant although we were trying (I'm an NHS worker, although not frontline) and had my second when I was 12 weeks. I spoke to my GP, midwife and the senior consultant at the vaccination centre and am confident in my choice to have it. Would rather the jab than get Covid in pregnancy.

RowansMammy · 11/05/2021 11:13

@GlubGlubGlub I asked which vaccine I'd be getting and they said the Pfizer one, everyone in the clinic is getting the same. I think its just luck of draw and if you are going to a vaccine centre or doctors surgery. My friend did day they are pulling astrazeneca one for under 40's, I've not looked into it though. Good luck!

I apologise for the typo, baby brain has well and truly kicked in this past week. I swear I do proof read my posts Grin
