Possibility of over 35s being allowed to book tomorrow?

Anyone have any idea? When previous groups have been called, does the booking site go live before it's announced? Thanks

Yes it normally goes live the night before. If it was going to open up tomorrow I'd expect it to be open now or very soon, but I think it'll be a few days yet as they need to reconfigure the website to allow for the two routes.

I'm not sure. Purely anecdotal but at my vaccine place I was told today that they will have Pfizer from Thursday next week. At the mo they only have AZ (which I declined today). Which makes me wonder if under 40s will be able to book from Thurs.

Or, the presence at Pfizer at my local place could have piss all to do with anything of course!! 😂

LondonWFuck · 09/05/2021 18:43

*presence of Pfizer....

LondonWFuck · 09/05/2021 18:45

I was able to book from Friday 30 April (age 40). The website didn't allow me to book the evening before

squiglet111 · 09/05/2021 18:46

Oh thank you! All news seems to be able the election. Hope they let us book soon 😊

I have my fingers crossed for you all! And for me too as I need to rebook my jabs 🤪

Rhayader · 09/05/2021 20:56

I don’t think so, only because I heard they are updating the website so that under 40s can choose whether to book AZ on not and building that change in will probably take a little while to build and test. I might be wrong but I work for the department of health and these things are usualy quite slow. I don’t work on this bit though (I work on a different covid bit).

vaxmeup · 09/05/2021 21:04

I think if under 40s were still going to be offered AZ then it would have opened over the next couple of days. Updating the booking system to allow a choice will take at least a week I suppose.

I'm still checking all the time though in case it changes- feels like everyone I know has had their first doses including several under 30s who don't fall into any of the priority groups!

nordica · 09/05/2021 21:14

I think they will have had a head start on updating the website to be able to offer alternatives to AZ... journalists knew about the JCVI statement on Thursday and the decision was probably made even earlier.

I've read previously on here that the website will start letting you book shortly before they update the front page officially to say your age group can now book. I've been trying this evening, so far not eligible (I'm 38 so presumably among the next).

LemonCake79 · 09/05/2021 21:34

Plus they've known for a while now that they would need to update the booking system for under 30's so they are only bringing forward plans that must have already been underway.

LemonCake79 · 09/05/2021 21:34

I'm hopeful it'll be this week.

LondonWFuck · 09/05/2021 21:35

You can still book by phoning 119 even if the website isn't working.

Rhayader · 10/05/2021 08:03

There’s an announcement later today about the pace of lockdown lifting and this could be part of it 🤞

squiglet111 · 10/05/2021 09:48

Hope for good news soon! Feel like we've been waiting ages!

And yes it seems that loads of people younger than me have had it already. I'm nearly 39.

It really has felt like forever for us under 40’s! They seemed to be working through the over 50’s and 40’s at such a good pace before that I thought we would have been booking last week. I’m guessing the issue with deciding which vaccine to offer the younger cohorts has slowed it somewhat. Fingers crossed we can book this week 🤞

Purplesparkle34 · 10/05/2021 11:09

I’m 35 and I had a text last week from my doctors inviting me to book mine. I think my area is moving pretty fast with jabs though.
