Do vaccination centres give out same vaccine on a single day ?

Do vaccination hubs (and all vaccination centres both big and small) alter what vaccine they give during a single day, or do they just go by the one they get delivered that day ? Does that rule differ depending if it is a local GP hub or a large hub ?

Our local hub last week was doing both AZ and Pfizer the same day. All depends on their delivery schedule.

Both were being done when I went. Pfizer for second doses and AZ for first doses.

I volunteered at a vaccine centre yesterday.

We were Pfizer until 10.30 am then astra zeneca. Was no element of choice though. The first lot were all Pfizer second doses and from 10.30 onwards first doses and a few az second doses.

As it's far easier to store most centres will have AZ available if they run out of Moderna or Pfizer. But generally speaking, talking of first doses at least, they will have one available and at least currently there's no 'choice'. If you think about the booking system whereby you book the 2nd shot at the same time as the first, the system has to be able to know that you're going to be able to have the same on both occasions (even if you don't get told). If everyone was able to choose on the spot, that system would fall down pretty quickly.
