How long are drive in test results taking now?

Woke up with a temperature and generally feeling crappy, in normal times would have dosed myself up and gone to work but this is not normal times, so booked a pcr test for 8am this morning.

Typically temperature has now gone but still feel rubbish. Hoping it doesn't take too long for the results to come back as I have loads of important stuff to get done this weekend that I never get time to do during the week as I work such long hours. Also desperately need to visit the laundrette or there will be no clean clothes for school next week! (Obviously assuming it's negative which I'm almost certain it will be)

How long are people generally waiting for results from drive in centres at the moment? I'm south east if that matters.

I got one earlier this week in London and got the results 8hrs later which is probably the quickest it’s ever been for me (circa 8 tests since July last year). Good luck!

I’m south east, test was 11am, got result about 4am next day

womaninatightspot · 07/05/2021 21:56

Went in the morning had them by 8pm the same day.

That was on Sunday as well so I was quite impressed.

Thank you for your replies. Thought I'd wake up to my results this morning but still nothing so over 24 hours now.

That is really not good is it. I thought everywhere had speeded up.

Tswiftscat · 09/05/2021 09:52

I was quite surprised it took that long but then I was also surprised that there was a queue forming when I arrived at the test centre before they opened. I wouldn't have thought there would have been that many people there given the very low rates in my area.

Thankfully my test was negative.

We used a walk in test centre last week. 9am test and got result via email at 2:45am, so around 18 hours. The text arrived at 7am but I woke for the loo and checked my emails in the night! Negative thankfully (for my daughter)
