Were you poorly?

I know someone who did, they felt a little unwell. Importantly they did not pass it on to my ks3 kids despite lots of close contact.

My friends colleague did.She had Ofizer early as she was a nurse. Ended up in hospital with pneumonia. The consultant said without the vaccine she could have died. She was in 40s with no major health problems.

She's thankfully home and fully recovered.

my great aunt got it aged 99 - she was a symptomatic it was picked up by her care home. Wasnt in the least unwell from covid but she did not like the isolation period one little bit

I got covid 6 weeks after my first Pfizer jab and it was like a bad cold. I had one day where I felt really tired, hot and achey but other than that I was ok. I had sinus pain for 5 days but nothing significant.

I know several young colleagues who have had both vaccines and not caught it, despite being exposed. I also know a few elderly and already unwell patients catch it after being vaccinated who weren’t great (I wouldn’t have seen them if they were doing well) but survived almost certainly only thanks to the vaccinations.

My 77 (and cancer patient) year old neighbour did. He was walking past a testing site and they suggested a test. He said he felt a bit tired, but that could have been because he was fed up of having to stay in.

Had she had both doses?

I tested positive 3 weeks after my first (oxford). Just felt like I had a cold and a bit tired. 52 and fat so could have been much worse!

There was some study few days ago. Since December 500 have ended up in hospital after having their jab. Most of them were in the first 3 weeks of the first jab and most likely caught the virus before the jab. 100 have died I think. So out of the 35m that we’ve vaccinated I think it’s a good result , sad for those affected but much better numbers than those from the unvaccinated groups

I spoke to a colleague today who had two doses a while ago (works in NHS). Recently had COVID and felt poorly for a few days with the standard symptoms but is now fully recovered.

I saw an article earlier today about the Indian variant - might have been on the BBC website. It mentioned a care home outbreak where 14 residents who had been vaccinated caught it. Several had hospital treatment but none died. I suspect that the outcome would have been different prior to the vaccine.
