Data on how effective the vaccine is on pregnant women?

There's great news coming out about how effective the vaccine is. But, is there anything to say how well it works for pregnant women?

I'm still very undecided on whether or not to have it.

I don't think there is.

Even for well funded research groups (such as those living with cancer) studies are only just beginning, and NHS is not routinely testing those with underlying conditions tomsee if there has been a response.

It's a shame. If I knew it was just as effective on me as someone whose not pg I'd definitely have it I think.

Why would it be any less effective on you because you're pregnant? Is there any evidence that other medications or treatments are less effective on a pregnant woman - as opposed to contra-indicated?

I have no idea, that's why I asked if anyone knew. Considering its a new vaccine and pregnant women have only just been allowed it I wondered if anyone had found anything.

Nothing I’ve seen. Many pregnant women in the USA have received Pfizer and no issues reported, I’d guess they’re tracking their responses too; testing for antibodies etc.

Pregnant women are offered the flu jab during pregnancy so I’m assuming that works, why wouldn’t this one?

There are studies coming out of the US and Israel showing that pregnant women have the same level or higher of antibodies after receiving the vaccine - check out the New England medical journal on this and the Harvard articles.

@MyBabyBoyBlue Thank you! I'll check that out 😀
