Staying with parents in wales from England - when?

I'm sorry! Can anyone clarify this for me please? I've seen Wales is now Alert level 3 from today and some of what I've read under this says that extended households can meet indoors. I've not found anything that clarifies what (if any) social distancing needs to happen and if indoors can be overnight.
My parents are in Wales, we (me plus 2 late teen/early 20s children) are in England and I was hoping that Wales would follow with overnight being allowed from 17th.
I was hoping to visit during Whit half term.
Would be grateful if anyone can help clarify whether extended household covers this, or do we have to wait more.
Thank you.

I’m interested.. got a holiday to Wales booked in early June 😬 I figured they’d be opening up to tourists by then surely?!

I honestly am not sure! We had hoped to visit in October half term but Wales locked down so we weren't allowed in from England. I am not sure if the extended household has to also be in Wales.
I had wondered about trying to book accommodation near to them as my Mum has been pretty poorly but think we might struggle to get anywhere if it is all last minute? (They live in a fairly touristy area). So probably sticking with staying with them but I'm not sure if we will be allowed!

You can form an extended household with your parents as long as neither of you has formed one with someone else. AFAIK, it's fine for extended households to be cross-border. Once you've formed your extended household you can meet indoors, stay overnight, and don't need to distance within that extended household.

Thank you! None of us have bubbled with anyone else, so extended household sounds like we can do it then.
From what I can see around holidays, @HolmeH , self-contained accommodation is allowed now but not shared, if that helps with what you have planned?!

We are visiting family in Wales May half term, no idea what the rules are tbh but seems utterly ludicrous that it wouldn't be allowed given all the data we are seeing now.
