What do you think?

Red amber green countries ? Will unvaccinated people be allowed entry?

I expect that Boris will push for Greece to be on the Green list so Stanley can go to his villa.

Has it been clarified yet whether travellers will need proof of both doses of the vaccine?

That'll depend entirely on the destination country, which will set its own rules for conditions of entry.

Britain places no restrictions on exit from UK and what to do on return (as things stand) is here

FCO travel advisories contain up to date information about requirements for entry to other countries

What? Don't you have to prove your travel is 'essential' in order to leave? This is the reason my family haven't been over recently - there is no problem with entering my country but they are not allowed to leave the UK.
Is that not right then, can they freely leave subject to entry requirements in the destination country? I thought this was the whole issue?

HelloMissus · 04/05/2021 13:09

I think returning from green countries will require a double vaccination and/or a negative test.

From an amber country - the above plus 5 days isolation.

Has anybody managed to have any success getting a full refund from the likes of Tui/First Choice?

I'm booked to go to Morrocco (booked pre pandemic for May 2020 then moved at an additional cost) at the end of May which is tipped to make the green list, but as we aren't vaccinated yet and there are still so many restrictions in place I don't want to go. I'm pregnant so I really dont want to take the risk of catching anything. But their website says they will only allow a free change to a later date if the destination is amber or green. Which would be great if I could find anything that wasnt 50-100% more expensive and you have to pay the difference.

I feel like I'm either going to have to put myself at risk or lose all my money if the holiday goes ahead - does anyone know if theres anything I can do?

Geamhradh · 04/05/2021 14:21

@SunflowerOwl, you might be better starting a new thread and asking as I'm sure lots are in the same boat. I had a full refund from Tui last year but that was because my destination was a no-go area. I'm not sure you'd get a refund based on not wanting to travel tbh. Depends what your new T&C said.

@toucantoucaninatree it seemed too ridiculous to be in earnest. But unpleasant, even as a “joke”. Maybe I was giving the benefit of the doubt too much. I certainly do not wish to be an apologist for bigotry.

I also think they won't announce the second stage of opening up until after May half term. They did this at Easter - delay the opening of UK self catering and shops when Easter holidays were nearly finished. They will do the same here as they won't want thousands of families fleeing to Europe then coming back to spread their love in the schools.

@PuffinShop

I've got my fingers crossed for the traffic light system to be implemented on schedule and for Iceland to be green as predicted - then my parents will be on the next flight over :D

Both fully vaccinated so no quarantine this end and they'd even be in time for my daughter's birthday. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high but it's hard.

Awww puffin I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you !
