How long before home test results received at the moment?

Has anyone had a home test processed recently and if so, how long before you received the result? My 6 year old had a fever yesterday afternoon / last night although 100% today and frustratingly there are no longer any test centres for PCR tests near us that you can walk through (we don’t have a car) so we have to do a home test that we won’t be able to post until Tuesday afternoon because of the public holiday tomorrow. Figure it’s unlikely to be covid as there are few cases in our area and no reported cases at school or with anyone we know but will self isolate until we have the result. So possibly a full week of missed school and going crazy inside at home (no garden) which makes me sad as she took ages to settle back in after lockdown. Thanks.

Results late morning the day after posting, a few weeks back.

That’s good to hear, thanks. Have just read that some priority postboxes collect covid home test kits on Sundays and public holidays so maybe it won’t be a full week of missed school.

Less than 24 hrs for me. Test at 10:30am on Thursday, results back around 05:30 the next morning.

I posted mine the Tuesday after Easter and got the results back on the Wednesday evening.

Minehave just taken 29 hrs.

I posted mine on Thursday and got the result at 7am yesterday (Saturday).

Good news that turnaround periods are currently short. We received our test kit at lunchtime and posted for our local 3pm collection so fingers crossed. Thanks everyone.

Priority post boxes collect on Sunday so assume bank holidays too. But you must check as you need to do the test on the day you post .
