Taking child when I get my vaccine

Got a letter to say my appointment is on Tuesday after school has finished. I can’t get hold of school to ask if DD can go to after school club and tomorrow is an inset and Monday a bank hol. No other childcare available. Will they let me in to have it if I have no childcare and have to take her? She’s 5 so obviously can’t stay home and wouldn’t want to leave her in the car.

I took my 2 year old and it was fine, it took no time at all and no one said anything about her being there.

Starshapeddreams · 29/04/2021 13:38

It depends on where you go. At my vaccination centre no one was allowed in with you. Had signs saying no relatives/children etc.

CornishYarg · 29/04/2021 13:41

It wouldn't be a problem at all at the two centres I volunteer at

Maybe I should try and get in touch with the vaccination centre? It’s say come alone if you can.... so I guess maybe they understand that’s not always possible?

I tried to take my toddler in and was refused entry at the door I'm afraid. Had to ring my OH to come and stay with her while I went in. You should definitely check in advance.

Took my 5 year old it was fine

roguetomato · 29/04/2021 14:24

It was fine at the place I got vaxed.

Wellbythebloodyhell · 29/04/2021 14:36

Wouldn't be an issue at the centre I work at, its going to be inevitable that this situation will occur especially now the younger generations are beginning to get their vaccine

springisintheair2021 · 29/04/2021 14:39

I wasn't allowed to bring my 7 year old GS when I had mine in half term

HildegardNightingale · 29/04/2021 15:05

We have had people bring their children in at the vac centre I work at. The kids just get fussed over by us nurses. Honestly don’t worry about it.

Januaryissodull · 29/04/2021 15:59

I was allowed to bring my young child in. I did check first though

bloodywhitecat · 29/04/2021 16:03

I took my 11 month old in, he had a whale of a time shouting "Da, da, da!" at all the nurses.

I took my baby and toddler, no problems.
