You had woken up with what looks like a patch of mastitis? I have not breastfed for six years so god knows why I have got it now. I don’t have a temperature. My appointment is an hours drive away and I won’t be able to speak to my doctor before I set off. I want to get my jab done, not least because it is tricky logistically to arrange with childcare.

I will get to a GP about it later on as NHS advice is I should have antibiotics and to rule out other stuff.

Have you got time to ring 111 for advice?

Why did that not occur to me?! Thank you

The only time I had mastitis it was mild enough that it got better by itself, no antiBs needed. I wouldn't get the jab today if I felt wretched, though. Just because some people feel rough after jab & who wants a double whammy.
