Would you get the jab while pregnant?

I am 38 and TTC. I may well be pregnant by the time I am invited to get the Covid jab. I am not sure whether to go ahead if so.

Would you have it, if you were pregnant?

No.

OppsUpsSide · 27/04/2021 23:18

I would wait to TTC personally.

Lucidas · 28/04/2021 04:09

I had it a few days ago and am in the third trimester. No real concerns, but I would probably be less likely to get it if I were early on in the pregnancy. We know how common miscarriage is in pregnancy, and I wouldn't to be overthinking connections between that and the vaccine if I had it early on.

I am getting it while TTC so fingers crossed.

Yes, but Pfizer only. Recent data has shown it’s safe

99,000 doses were administered to pregnant women in the US with no adverse outcomes reported.

Pregnancy makes you & baby vulnerable to Covid and there is no way I would go through a pregnancy without protection.

It’s so hard when even healthcare professionals are spouting nonsense. When I was pregnant in 2020 I asked my midwife about the flu jab and she said “hmmm, I’m on the fence about the flu jab” ffs.

100%. Am in third trimester and have been practically begging my midwife to see if I can get it ASAP. Far too much evidence showing that covid in third trimester can be really dangerous for mum and baby... and that the vaccine is safe

Crazycatlady83 · 28/04/2021 07:06

Got the Pfizer yesterday, in my third trimester with a c-section planned for 39 weeks. No way do I want to go the rest of my pregnancy with the country opening up and people starting to relax without protection . Neither do I want to get covid in hospital and have to care for a newborn.

Everything fine so far - sore arm but no other side effects and the baby still moving normally

Not a chance

JaffaRaf · 28/04/2021 07:46

No I wouldn’t.

QueenAdreena · 28/04/2021 07:49

If the vaccination rate continues at this pace I should get mine early in my third trimester. I will definitely be having it done.

whatswithtodaytoday · 28/04/2021 07:52

Personally yes, I'd get it in my second or third trimester. Only not in first because fever can be dangerous in early pregnancy, and you might get a flu-like immune response. But I would definitely want to have it before all the hospital visits in the third, I was in and out every few days in my last weeks.

At 38 you'll be called for your first jab very soon anyway, probably within the next month - I'd wait and get that initial protection.

Pravi123 · 28/04/2021 07:55

I have just had it in third trimester. Don't ask an anonymous hunch of mums on a forum though. Do some research of reputable sources and make your mind up based on that.

About to start IVF, asked my consultant whether I should have it if called and she said absolutely unless extremely close to egg collection. Will be following her advice.
