shellfish and penicillin allergy and having the moderna vaccine

Just wondered if anyone has either a penicillin or shellfish allergy and has had the moderna vaccine? If so were there many bad side effects? Just looking for reassurance...

Unless you're allergic to any vaccine ingredients, known allergies aren't a contra-indication and shouldn't trigger a reaction for any of the vaccines.

yes I know but it would still be great to hear if anyone with these allergies has had any bad effects

I have both. Penicillin gives me a horrible rash all over and I am violently sick within 30 mins of eating prawns.

Had the Moderna 2 weeks ago and was absolutely fine. Had a sore arm for a few days (as did my non-allergic husband) but no other side effects.

The Moderna vaccine doesn't contain penicillin or shellfish, so you'll be fine. The allergies that the Pfizer triggered were to a specific ingredient - consult with your GP if unsure.
