Hi all

This is not a AZ bashing type post. I have a question and can't find lots of info on and thought I would ask here. I asked my GP and they did-not know.

I am due my second AZ jab in early May. I have a blood clotting condition (factorV Leiden) so my general risk of blots clots is higher than the average person, I am 48, I am very overweight.

If we had known about the blot clot risk at the time of my first jab I would of been offered Pfizer etc.

What is the risk and protocol for second jab continuing to be AZ?

Talk to your GP.

Oh sorry I see you did. If your GP who knows your exact medical history can’t tell you it’s safe I think that speaks for itself.

I also have Factor V Leiden and a BMI over 40. I had first the AZ in January and the second 2. weeks ago. No symptoms what so ever. I was bit worried about the second dose but I was even more worried of mixing different vaccines as studies of that haven't been completed yet. I understood that the blood clots caused by AZ are extremely rare and have to do with autoimmune response so blood clothing disorders wouldn't necessarily increase the risk. GP did give me an option to take another kind of vaccine for 2nd dose if I would have wanted to. She said that chances of a blood clot would be around 1 in a million. I chose to have AZ also for my 2nd.
