Question about booking vaccine on NHS booking site

joanneg36 · 24/04/2021 14:05

I just gave it a go - even though I'm only 44.

The site says it can't find my details even though I'm definitely entering correct NHS number, DOB and name. Does this mean my details are wrong on my GP's records somewhere or is it just not letting me book yet because my area isn't doing under 45s?

Not sure. I successfully did an over 50s booking about 1 to 2 days in advance.

Perhaps your details have not yet been loaded up to the database the vaccine booking system uses?

joanneg36 · 24/04/2021 14:24

Thanks. Basically, I'm just trying to work out whether it's saying that because I'm not yet eligible (which is fine) or whether I need to chase up with my GP because it means they have my details wrong somehow.

It usually says you aren't eligible to book yet. I'd give your practise a call and see what details that have saved for you.

Tealightsandd · 24/04/2021 14:41

Friends in their early 40s trying it out get a message saying currently ineligible. Definitely check with your GP that your details are recorded right.

AgathaTwisty · 24/04/2021 14:42

I’m in the same age bracket as you and it tells me I’m not eligible to book yet. Doesn’t mention not being able to find me. Hope you can get it sorted easily.

titchy · 24/04/2021 14:57

When I searched by name and dob it couldn't find me. When i searched by nhs number it found me. With the same name and dob details I'd been entering...Hmm

So if you just enter your nhs number and nothing else you should be ok.

FlyingBurrito · 24/04/2021 14:59

If you aren't eligible it says you aren't eligible it doesn't sneakily pretend it doesn know who you are GrinGrin

If trying different bits of data dont work then possibly there's an error somewhere on your record. Have you tried 119?

Wigeon · 24/04/2021 15:03

If it can find you but you aren’t yet eligible (because it’s still 45s and over), you get a message saying “you are not yet eligible”. Given you got a different message, I think the details your GP has are different to the ones you are entering.

My GP has an online form on their website where you can submit changes to your details, like address - suggest you try that.

I'm a nurse working with the vaccination team in my area.

If it can't find your details it just means that we haven't yet applied for your details with your GP. You will get a blue letter when it's time for you to get vaccination.

In my area we have just started sending out blue letters to the over 40s, your area may be different

MRex · 24/04/2021 15:12

Are you in England? There are some differences between the different nations. If you are in England then try NHS number or call your GP (if you haven't been in 5 years they might have removed you).

Are you in England? The system must either have changed or be different in different areas if so as I tried the system out of interest when it was doing the very first cohort and I got the not eligible message months before my due time.

I then saw on here that although it said otherwise on the front page there were accepting my age bracket so I tried again and was able to book

Some time later I think I did get a letter

It found my details months ago when I compared to what it said for me (42) and my parents (70s). It still says I'm ineligible when I have been checking earlier this week just in case. So the vaccination team applied for my details back in Jan/Feb then even though I'm still not eligible all these weeks later?

Tealightsandd · 24/04/2021 15:18

I think BryanAdamsLeftAnkle is in Scotland. Is that where you are OP?

BryanAdamsLeftAnkle · 24/04/2021 15:21

I'm in Scotland. Yes.

FlyingBurrito · 24/04/2021 15:22

Cross posts @OrangeBananaFish Smile

It doesnt make sense that the system would ask GPs in batches for records. Surely they got them all at the start and flagged people as they become eligible depending on their grouping and location. The whole English vaccination system has been a fantastic sucess imo partly because it has been so responsive to moving down the groups I know there have been some issues for those in the groups based on medical conditions but for the majority who are having it on age it's worked really well.

LeibnizQueen · 24/04/2021 15:26

I had text message from docs with a link. I'm 43.
Done yesterday- feel awful today though!

joanneg36 · 24/04/2021 16:08

Thanks everyone - I'll contact my GP on Monday.

Just updating this morning to say I tried again and it worked fine! So worth persisting if you are close to 45.

Tealightsandd · 25/04/2021 12:22

That's good news. Glad it got sorted out. Thanks for updating. Smile
