Completely vaccinated. Is it still not a good idea?

Yes, children have hugged grandparents. So have I. One of them is 101 and has weeks to live.

So..... how are you washing your face? Or putting sun cream on? 🤨

EileenGC · 24/04/2021 21:38

I’m assuming people run their hands under water before washing their faces in the morning? Or do you come with the children from football and make them wash their face straight away, without using soap first? Or do you not wash your hands before putting sun cream on, if they aren’t clean?

Although I have to say, the amount of people who have come into my house over this last year (allowed where I live) and have sat straight on the sofa or at the table, or joined in whatever I was doing, before asking where the bathroom was... I’ve come to the conclusion people aren’t used to washing their hands first thing as they come through the door. That’s how I was raised - coat off, shoes off, hands washed, then you could do whatever was next.

I don’t even think about washing my hands unless they are physically dirty, I’ve been to the toilet or I’m about to eat (& I don’t always did that to be honest). I do now antibac after the shops & park etc but I never would have in the past. But I’m still not overly obsessive about it. I shower in a morning, which cleans me & I apply sunscreen & makeup. I don’t wash my hands to reapply sunscreen during the day. I touch my face quite a lot I recon, I don’t much think about it but I have heyfever so I rub my eye or nose quite a lot!

I’ve survived 31 years without too much illness so far.. in fact, I’ve caught more bloody colds this year than I normally do! But I do now have two germy children in nursery as opposed to just one last winter..

Mine hug all their grandparents.
At this stage, if your not happy hugging fully vaccinated family you may as well just say you’re never going to hug them again.
At what point is it going to magically be ok???
Is it actually a ‘rule’ not to hug your mother? Or just a suggestion for a behaviour that might have a small impact on how many germs you pass on?
COVID seems to have killed off people’s common sense and ability to risk assess appropriately.

Definite hugs. My Grandparents have missed the hugs and at this point they’d risk Covid for them. Thankfully they’re fully vaccinated. I’m not denying them their hugs 🤗

No hugs (or being closer than 2 metres basically) was never a law.. it was guidance. Just like the guidance is to eat 5 fruit and veg a day.
Topseyt · 25/04/2021 00:13

Just let them do it.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 25/04/2021 00:19

We hugged grandparents last week. Them fully vaccinated. Me fully vaccinated. DH more than 3 weeks past first jab. LFT done on me, DH and dc before meeting.

SpnBaby1967 · 25/04/2021 17:18

The mere suggestion of legislating my ability to hug my dearest & dearest has always been appalling to me. I hug, always have, always will.

MissMaple82 · 25/04/2021 17:35

Mine have hugged throughout

Smartiepants79 · 26/04/2021 09:19

And we know how many people actually eat 5 a day don’t we......
