Did you feel better, the same or worse than after your first az vaccine?

I felt rubbish for about 48 hours after my first and am hoping that I'll get off lightly next time.

The sooner I can get it done the better as i'm having to take my parents to their hospital appointments at the moment. I'd feel better if I was fully protected (they already had both).

Everyone I know who had side effects with the first jab were fine with the second.

@Mummymi

Had second jab on Wednesday. It hurt going in, the doctor said it went in to muscle and my arm had a couple random aches in the first hour like a bit of a shooting pain. But other than that fine.
It has to go into muscle, it's an intramuscular injection!
Mummymi · 27/04/2021 11:23

@Cookerhood the doctor made a comment that it had gone into muscle and that she had done lots that day that the same had happened. Said something about it being more work for her to get the injection in. I just assumed that meant that sometimes it goes into muscle and other times not. I'm not very clued up with what happens in the body haha!

Cookerhood · 27/04/2021 15:57

No, it would be a mistake if it didn't go into the muscle!

First had a sore arm and felt a bit tired the next day and a bit hot.
Had my second Friday and no side effects at all, arm a bit tender for a day. And I’m 30 weeks pregnant so was not looking forward to side effects!

DP had his at the weekend. Not even a sore arm this time. The first one he just had an achy arm which was warm to the touch, but nothing more.

I was very unwell after the first, no side effects at all after the second.

A friend was worse than me with the first - to the extent of 111 wanting to send an ambulance, and calling her back hourly.
She was fine with the second, arm was a bit painful.
