Headache started in day 11 post AZ vaccine

Then on day 11 of this constant headache that pain killers didnt touch I ended up being blue lighted to hospital with a suspected stroke. I was in hospital for five days!

They gave me a CT and guessed it was bels palsey but I fully recovered while in hospital.

I was referred to ent and neurology but neurology wont see me.

I have asked pals for my bloods that that was drawn in resus.

Anyone had similar? I know it could be coincidental but with my second dose due soon I want to know my platelets and clot results.

Presumably if you've had a CT scan in hospital that was clear then there is nothing showing clot wise. Your gp will be able to discuss your blood results with you. Sounds like it could be a migraine and probably unconnected to vaccine.

If it's bells palsy maybe worth looking at the yellow card data. And for the other jabs as just read pfizer had more incidences of it

You’ve had a CT scan so you can rule out any blood clots as that’s exactly what they were looking for with the suspected stroke.

Sounds like possibly Bell’s palsy, I assume you had some face muscle weakening etc? You should report that obvs. It could be the jab but equally, a complete coincidence. My colleague got rushed off to hospital with what turned out to be Bell’s palsy just randomly one Thursday. No link to anything. It just happened!

3yes the CT ruled out anything major going on. I was supposed to be having a MRI for a smaller clot but I had a MRI over a decade ago so there was a mix up in communication over that in hospital.

It wasnt a migraine, that's been ruled out by various doctors in hospital. Plus when I have a migraine I am in agony and sick. This was no where near as bad as a migraine.

I'm trying to find some papers on the AZ clots and its tricky. Seems like they are major clots and lethal so that's reassuring in my case. As the Drs said it could have been a clot but tiny.

My gp wont help with this. It's a non event as far as they are concerned. It's faster to get the results directly from the hospital myself.

Yes I reported it to yellow card. Again good to hear that bels palsey could be rarer side effect too.

I have had an ongoing headache for five weeks since first vaccine and a very scary episode with my eye almost like a focal seizure. Also my neck feels stiff and at times my left arm has felt slightly numbed. not looking forward to the second one and not even sure I will have it.

StressMagnet · 25/04/2021 22:40

@Babyroobs did you talk to your dr about your headaches? I had iv paracetamol when I was admitted but in the end it only went after days of paracetamol and ibuprofen together every four hours.

I am on a course of amitriptyline at the moment as it calms down overactive nerves so I haven't had any headaches of note since.

I'm still waiting on my blood results and cant really make up my mind about having the second dose until I see them. I guess they was fine, but it would be reassuring to see that.
