How long after Pfizer did you get an invite for second jab

I'm 9 weeks post vaccine and have yet to hear anything about my second jab yet.

My DH had his the day before mine and was contacted last week and had it last weekend (we had them in different places).

How long after your vaccine were you contacted to book the second?

Thanks

DM 80 was given the date for her second jab when she had her first but she didn't get the appointment time (by text) until 48 hours before. Actually, she only got 24 hours notice of her first appointment.

Vivana · 22/04/2021 13:42

14 weeks and had my 2nd yesterday

Abraxan · 24/04/2021 11:56

Had my first in 24 Feb, so 8.5 weeks ago.
Not yet heard about the second one.
Hoping to have a little bit of notice as now back at work and as I teach it's hard to just go anytime. I was wfh for my first.

Mine was booked via GP so no second date given.

MintyCedric · 24/04/2021 11:59

I had my first Pfizer on 28/2 about 5-6 weeks after my mum had hers.

She had her second 3 weeks ago so assuming I'll hear by mid May.

Had my first Pfizer late Feb via GP practice and was told it'd be about 10/11 weeks later that I'd be called in again, and that I wasn't to plan anything like 'going away', because when they rang I'd have to jump to it. Grin At the time I was all 'GO somewhere? Where is there to go?' but actually now we've booked somewhere for half term (two weeks later than I was told to expect second dose) so I really hope they'll call me when they thought they would!

but surely this is all down to local supplies, population density and when they get the Pfizer in? It could be any time, really.

My parents are at 10.5 weeks and haven’t heard anything. Is there a number you can call to get an update? I’m overseas, so am unfamiliar with England’s vaccine rollout.

Floralnomad · 25/04/2021 00:31

Our GP booked the second appt at the time you went for the first , that is the case for both Pfizer and AZ .

mybonnieliesovertheocean2 · 25/04/2021 00:35

I was booked in for my second jab at my first jab. It was around 11-12 weeks later.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 25/04/2021 01:52

I chased my Dad's in week 10 for him and was booked week11. My Mum (also Pfizer) was given 2nd appointment at first. Not sure why was different as both at same centre via GP.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 25/04/2021 01:57

I just called their GP on normal number even though was actually at Heath centre.

Pyewackect · 25/04/2021 02:10

8 weeks.

marilenagrace · 25/04/2021 09:41

@GhoulWithADragonTattoo did you call the GP to chase it ? Was he invited by the GP via text for his first ? Just thinking what to do as time is ticking and I've not heard..

marilenagrace · 25/04/2021 09:42

@GhoulWithADragonTattoo sorry I missed your last reply..

mybonnieliesovertheocean2 · 25/04/2021 09:52

I was also sent a booking link sent by text asking me to book my second jab. Just to ensure my original booking as available and if not choose a different date

toodleloooo · 25/04/2021 09:57

My dad was in his 11th week and still hadn't heard. He called his GP and they gave him an appointment for the next day. Worth trying if you're close. I was a bit concerned about supply - this was earlier in the month when a HCP friend said her colleagues had been unable to get their second doses for the time being, but I think things have got better since then.

marilenagrace · 27/04/2021 18:24

@toodleloooo that's great ! I called this week ( without giving my name ) and was quite firmly told I won't even hear anything until the 12 week mark. Quite disappointed. Ah well.

Crunchymum · 27/04/2021 20:40

Coming up to 9 weeks for me.

My dad had his first vaccine same place as I did but a month earlier and he's just had his second dose. However he had to travel elsewhere as our local hub isn't doing Pfizer anymore? 🙄

Crunchymum · 27/04/2021 20:41

9 weeks and no word.

huckie · 27/04/2021 20:47

I got my Covid letter last week - together with all my over-70 friends - and had my second vaccine today, 11 weeks after my first.

MissConductUS · 27/04/2021 20:56

Three weeks, and the appointment was made while I got the first dose. This was in the US.

Chocadoddledoo · 27/04/2021 21:06

Just over 3 weeks between jabs.

Mrsorganmorgan · 27/04/2021 21:18

5 weeks, (Wales) although dh has waited for his second vaccine a lot longer. I had Pfizer he had AstraZenica

NotOnMute · 28/04/2021 07:59

Text at 9 weeks and 2 days, booked in for precisely 10 weeks after first jab.

Confuzzlediddled · 28/04/2021 08:02

I had my text on Monday, will be having mine on the 4th which is exactly 11 weeks later

vjg13 · 28/04/2021 08:12
