Pregnant and vaccine question

VoyageInTheDark · 19/04/2021 13:56

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and in group 6 due to coeliac disease. I initially wasn't going to have the vaccination until after baby is born but now they've changed the advice for pregnant women I'm thinking of having it. However the advice says pregnant women should be offered an alternative to AZ, how do you know if there will be pfizer/moderna available? Do you just have to book it and turn up hoping for the best? Is it better to book through GP rather than the website?

It says on the booking website that you should book via your GP in order to guarantee an alternative to AZ.

@VoyageInTheDark also 34 weeks pregnant and invited due to coeliacs disease..... I've been passed round various departments / helplines who recommend trying the GP. Midwife however wasn't confident that GP would know and told me to try helplines Hmm so I'm waiting to hear back from GP but not feeling too confident. It's all so new no-one seems to know. Hope you're having more luck than me!

@rach3952 I haven't tried my GP yet as I need a day where I'll be free to wait for a call back but I am expecting a similar lack of knowledge as my surgery are not doing vaccines and are generally quite rubbish!
