And I have had no side effects whatsoever.

The first jab knocked me for six for a couple of days, possibly because I had covid in March 2020.

I was expecting to feel a bit rough after the 2nd jab and I'm 100% fine.

Just thought that might reassure anyone who's worried.

@Mumblechum0 thanks.
I was rough for about 2 days after the first. Good to hear the 2nd may not be as bad!

DespairingHomeowner · 14/04/2021 12:59

Thanks for this @Mumblechum0

A doctor friend told me this seems to be the pattern with AZ - more side effects after jab 1. I was v sleepy & felt a bit ill for 1 day after my first jab, so was planning on writing off the weekend when I have my second - good to hear I might not have to!

Rainbowsandstorms · 14/04/2021 13:41

Thank you it’s good to hear some good news too.

IloveSooty424 · 14/04/2021 13:56

That’s the reassuring to hear after my horrible experience from my first jab last week! Thanks for posting.

Cookerhood · 14/04/2021 14:29

Yes, the research from the studies showed that Pfizer tends to have more side effects after the second one, & AZ after the first.

pinkearedcow · 14/04/2021 14:40

Yes, I have heard the 2nd is much less likely to cause a response. Congratulations on getting both your jabs, OP.

Mindymomo · 14/04/2021 14:40

That’s good. I didn’t have any side effects when I had my first, hope the second is the same.

paralysedbyinertia · 14/04/2021 14:41

Thanks OP, good to hear.

Nc967125 · 14/04/2021 14:52

Hoping for the same!
Spent 2 days in bed after my first dose with aches, fever, tiredness, nausea and diarrhoea - would rather not lose another 2 days!

ifonly4 · 14/04/2021 14:57

Had my second dose AZ two days ago - just felt chilly for an hour (in all fairness I was sat on settee).

First time around, chills about same time after vaccine, felt sick, had tiredness and dull headache for a week.

Bagelsandbrie · 14/04/2021 15:09

Thank you for this. I have my second next week and felt so rough after my first!

SeaTurtles92 · 14/04/2021 15:10

Thanks for this.
DP (27) had his 2nd AZ on Saturday and he felt fine too! Grin.

myrtleWilson · 14/04/2021 15:31

For those that had side effects after 1st dose of AZ when did they start (within 24 hours, after 48 hours etc...)

I had mine yesterday and all okay so far (touches wood) but am trying not to check my body for blood clot based bruising on a regular basis - thanks health anxiety Hmm

FascinatingCarrot · 14/04/2021 15:43

@myrtleWilson Mine (and dh) started a few hours later. I had the jab at 11am, was in bed for 6pm as couldnt stop shivering with cold.
He had it at 6pm and woke up at 3am with the same shivering.

DespairingHomeowner · 14/04/2021 15:46

@myrtleWilson - my experience was v similar to Carrot. Jab at 11am, had a nap at 3pm, in bed from 10pm - 2pm next day, but woke a few times in night feeling grotty

Felt rubbish til that evening, when I livened up, and a bit under-par for a few days later but nothing major

Main thing - day of jab I wouldn't have wanted to drive a few hours after as was tired & groggy

Me and dh had our jabs about 2pm, by about 8pm we felt a bit odd and then spent the rest of the night feeling awful. Like bad flu. Continued till about evening then next day and then gradually eased off.

Thanks, that’s good to hear!

Mine started 10 hours afterwards and the worst of it lasted 24 hours (flu symptoms, headache and extreme tiredness).

Boph · 14/04/2021 17:48

I have mine next week. I would actually feel massively reassurred if I had side effects. I had none after the first jab and was slow to produce antibodies.

NotwatchingSpooks · 14/04/2021 17:54

Thanks so much for update, I had my second today and am apprehensive as was very flu like after the first. I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 this has cheered me up.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 14/04/2021 20:21

@myrtleWilson mine started in earnest 24 hours later, although I had a pretty disturbed night sleep. Now over the worst of it (36 hours) although the vaccine seems to want lots of chocolate atm. Grin I don't normally have a sweet tooth.

Your post has made me feel much better thank you! I've been panicking about my second as I felt so very poorly with my first
PurplePumpkinDream · 14/04/2021 23:30

@Mumblechum0 good to know! I’ve had my first AZ trouble free and hope I won’t have reactions with the second. Thanks!

myrtleWilson · 15/04/2021 08:28

Thanks everyone! A bit achey but nothing too bad

cherrytree63 · 15/04/2021 08:46

Thanks for this post, very reassuring.
I had my 1st 4 weeks ago, was totally wiped out for ten days, and today is the 1st morning I've woken up without a headache and feeling like my arm is broken!
I was dreading my 2nd but feel better after reading this.

Nappyvalley15 · 15/04/2021 08:49

Thanks for the report back OP. Reassuring.
