Now that restrictions have eased a bit im interested to know for those of you with young school age children have you took them out many places in this Easter holiday ?
All i see on social media is people taking their kids on holiday , out for day trips legoland and themeparks , the zoo ect and playdates.....Personally for us all we had planned was to visit family members grandparents aunt and cousins ect. But we've all had horrible colds and coughs (thankfully not covid) but I've been keeping at home trying to recover supppse I just feel a bit guilty now

Sports camp, Lego and book shop. Storming through Harry Potter.

Oh we did see family in the garden for pizza and cake.

Not as much as I'd hoped. Had Dsis and DMiL cancel on us. Did meet my parents for first time since October. Some baking and runs for me. Football back on.

We had a quiet Easter weekend.
Last week we’ve met friends in the park and we’ve met up with PIL in their garden for lunch.
This week we’ve been shopping for school shoes as DD’s needed replacing, met friends in the park, we’re baking today (birthday cake for DS) and we’re going to National Trust gardens further away from were we live and I’m looking forward to a good mooch about in the gift shop.

And football training for DS and swimming lesson start up again at the weekend for DD.

Met up with one grandma at botanical gardens with playground and Easter train. Easter egg hunt and crafts at home. Visit to local NT place though we do that often anyway. Stayed with other grandma for a couple of days (different walks and different playgrounds). Beyond that, nothing. I have seen on social media that others in his class have been to zoos/safari parks, theme park, shopping, dinner out, lots of socialising etc. I feel mean that he will be hearing about all this fun he hasn't had next week. But we are older parents and we have already explained to him that our choice for us is to wait until 3 weeks after first jab (now booked, hurrah!) before doing more; other families make their own decisions based on what is right for them.

Not much.
Picnic with grandparents at a half way point.
Lots of dog walks and playground
We did go swimming yesterday which was fab.
Screen time and trampolining....

Also already back at school.

We went to a funeral, obviously no wake allowed at that point, that was about all we did.

Coasterfan · 14/04/2021 11:34

We went to my mums last week (support bubble) and went to the beach and some country parks, been to mini golf and a farm park and out for a walk with friends, DD 13 has been out with friends a couple of times DS 11 has been out on his bike with friends and this week we are doing a theme park every day 😀 lots of catching up to do and we have had nearly 3 weeks off with the bank holidays and inset days.

Nowhere and I feel awful ! My dd is so happy at home drawing and making things but I feel we should be out doing stuff.

RaiderOfTheKitchenCupboard · 14/04/2021 11:45

My 4 year old has a cough and cold too, so not really been out. The weather hasn’t been great either. It was the 8 yr old’s birthday last weekend, so his new toys have kept them both amused and there’s been birthday cake and Easter eggs which have totally not been used for bribing them to behave, honest...

We’ve played the board game Camel Up a few times which is fun. Bit concerned that the 4yr old seems to be a natural at gambling though...

You’ve been poorly OP, don’t stress. These things happen. Now more things are open & you feel better, you can get out & about at weekends 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s still not that warm so to be honest, it’ll be nicer outdoors once that happens! I mean, we wrap up & do stuff but it’s a faff. I can’t wait for no coat weather!
