Unlikely there will be a third wave in the summer

This is what the scientists are now reporting.
Hopefully this will mean life can go back to normal quicker than we hoped.

I'm hopeful as summer was good last year and cases low. The difference this time is we will go into autumn with high vaccination and natural immunity rates, so a degree of herd immunity. There are also better treatments, more testing and the ability to tweak vaccines for the winter season for booster jabs along with the flu jabs.

Second attempt AGAIN to attach a link....

Here in The Sunday Times - at least it's finally being discussed regarding variants. Dr Yeadon talked about his experience with them months ago... but we know what happens to scientists who don't go along with behavioural psychologists don't we...

@wheresmymojo

Does anyone know when we'll be updated on the immunity length for the various vaccines?
We don't know yet. The timelines discussed up to now are worst case scenarios. It will depend both on how the virus mutates and how well our immunity lasts. With flu we have long lasting immunity (multiple decades) but the virus mutates fast to evade our immunity so we get flu every few years. Whereas our immunity to e.g. tetanus reduces after a few years.

Hopeful news is good

We are currently fearing fear, like some dog chasing its own tail

We can’t keep locking down every 2 months

Although I would not be surprised if the sage committee wants us locked up for our own good indefinitely. Not because they are evil or a conspiracy, but if you’d have, say, flu epidemiologists running the country (or any contagious disease) they would lock everyone up so the 30,000 who die of flu every year would not have to die. We could save the nhs every year. We could save tens of thousands of lives every winter.

As long as sage runs the country, we’ll be in and out of lockdown.
