History of CVST/clotting disorder - 2nd vaccine?

I had a cvst 2.5 years ago and I had the AZ vaccine 5 weeks ago. I won't be having my 2nd one but want to know what other people are doing in terms of 2nd vaccine? Will you still have it?

Its frustrating that all this is coming out now after many people with clotting disorders have already had the vaccine. My dads got a massive aneurysm on his brain (had op 7 years ago) the vaccine could have been catastrophic for him.

What do you plan to do with random opinions from mumsnet exactly? You need to speak with a consultant haematologist to get advice specific to your medical history.

I hope you've commented the same thing on all the other vaccine threads Smile

I suppose given how rare it is it takes millions of doses for it to show up and then for a link to be established.

Not having my second unless we know significantly more by then. Given the way info seems to flow like glue on this matter in the U.K., I doubt we’ll hear much more about it unless forced.

I respond based on what someone puts in a post. There is a difference between people who had anxiety due to news reports but no side effects and no medical history indicating a risk factor, and people with a medical history of CVST or HIT.

With respect, I dont suppose the trials revealed much in a smaller sample. And with respect, it is a new vaccine[dont know how to word that properly, but you probably understand what I mean]. Doctors and scientists dont know what they dont know yet. I do think it is a bit odd though, that in 1 week or was it 10 days, we go from few cases and deaths, to now this current situation and stats.[not saying it was anyone's fault necessarily].

I am waiting to know more. Not sure whether to wait 6 months as planned, or up to two years when most things will be known.
Apparently it takes 10 years until everything is known about a vaccine.

The medical experts were saying yesterday that all cases has been in first doses so people should have their second one. My DH has a history of clots but will be having his second one in the next few days as the risk of covid is greater for him.

Just to make my post a bit clearer, I havent had any vaccine yet. I was offered it, but told the NHS I was waiting until maybe Sept.
