Vaccination and resting heart rate

I was looking through my Fitbit data and noticed that my resting heart rate went up for the 6 days after my vaccination. Only by a little bit, but it's noticeable different to normal. I felt rubbish for the first 48 hours (temperature, aches, shivery etc) so not altogether surprised it went up for those days. I was surprised it lasted so long though. Has anyone else noticed this?

I didn't measure it but I remember my heart racing a bit from about 14 hours for about 24 hours. I felt fluey during that time so I assumed it was because I was feverish

It's normal
Your heart rate goes up when your immune system has to dk more than usual. Which is does after a vaccine because how they work.
Nothing to give anymore thought to

Mine went up to about 90, it's usually 60-70, it lasted for about 5 days gradually coming down.

jajabanks · 06/04/2021 19:01

Yes I noticed that too. Normal around 72 but was around 80 for the days after. It's back to normal now so I guess it's just your body reaction to it.

I wasn't worried at all. I just thought it was interesting and wondered if others had had similar experiences. Sounds like they have.

Yeah. I’m sitting here with palpitations. Have had them the last few days. Had the AZ vaccine 8 days ago

Yes! My resting hr soared to 85bpm for about 24hrs and remained elevated at 68-70bpm for about a week.

The day after her AZ vaccine DDs apple watch woke her up from an afternoon nap to tell her that her heart rate was elevated. Think it was about 125 but kept going up and was over 150 at one point (not for long). She didn't actually feel that her HR was fast - no palpitations or anything. Maybe it's quite common but if you don't have a Fitbit/smartwatch you wouldn't know.

Yes, I only knew because of Apple Watch, it felt normal so it probably happened to loads of people.
