Have any pregnant ladies had the AstraZeneca vaccine?

I’m 33 and 6 weeks pregnant..I’m in a priority group due to asthma and was invited for my vaccine last week but I’m so unsure of what to do. My doctor said I can have the vaccine but it’s my choice and they don’t have enough data on it. I was almost going to get it because the risks of getting covid in pregnancy can be severe and I don’t want to be worrying throughout the pregnancy...but then all the news of blood clots has made me unsure as you’re at higher risk of clotting in pregnancy anyway and it made me think what else don’t they know about.

I thought maybe I would wait until after the first trimester but then I’d probably be getting novavax or moderna which we also don’t know the effects of. Moderna I would prefer as the US has been giving all pregnant women the vaccine so we’ll have more data but obviously you don’t get a choice.

Very unsure of what to do! Anyone else in the same situation? I was all for getting AstraZeneca as the vaccine platform is based on the flu jab which is used widely in pregnant women but now I’m just not sure because of this weird clotting disorder...I know it’s probably a very small chance.

@Eve30

I also have my first AZ before conceiving and was due my second at 8+5 weeks. I chose not to have it during my first trimester and am undecided as to whether to get it once I (hopefully) get past 12 weeks. I think I’m going to see what the covid case numbers are like but with how things are going and with all rules ending next week I feel like cases will be really high and therefore so will the risk of catching it so may opt to have my second dose. It’s insanely hard to know what to do for the best as I feel like there is so little evidence to back up the guidance. I change my mind about it every single day!! 😭
It's difficult to decide. The only thing you can do really is ask your GP/Midwife etc what they advise. Good luck!
