Daughter had similar for twenty four hours back in November, tested positive

She was only like this for a day Sad

LilyPond2 · 03/04/2021 19:42

If your teen is hot and cold she clearly needs a PCR test. The lateral flow tests are much less reliable and apparently only pick up half of positive cases.

Springchickpea · 03/04/2021 19:45

Lateral flow tests are not appropriate for people with symptoms. A negative test only means that there wasn’t enough covid antigen present, not that there was none. Please book a pcr test to be sure!

SprungisSpringYaY · 03/04/2021 20:23

So people think this could be symptoms?

You need to order a PCR test, or take her to a PCR test centre.
Hope she is ok.

SprungisSpringYaY · 03/04/2021 20:36

This will be 3rd time sincerely corona began.. Before she'd actually had a cough etc.

I've booked one in for tomorrow... Best to be on safe side..

SprungisSpringYaY · 03/04/2021 21:17

chickadeeeeeeeee · 03/04/2021 21:23

Hope you are both ok, dd year group about 1/4 caught it across several classes, although not all tested and, I suspect, some a symptomatic

No-one was really ill though Sad

justasking111 · 03/04/2021 21:23

Well could be the flu

Lindy2 · 03/04/2021 22:35

My children had Coronavirus in January. They are aged 10 and 12. Their main symptom was vomiting for a couple of days. If DH and I hadn't had confirmed Coronavirus at that time we would have just thought it was a tummy bug. They also had Covid toes which are purple marks and blisters on their toes.

justasking111 · 05/04/2021 20:53

@SprungisSpringYaY. How is she now??

SprungisSpringYaY · 05/04/2021 20:57

Thanks just..

Did pcr as well as lateral flow and both negative... Shes much better, moving around etc but it's weird.. A cold with puke? Etc..

funtimefrank · 05/04/2021 21:15

Oh I had cold with puke (and also negative test). I presume something viral and I felt pretty knocked out for a couple of days. Friend had similar. Coincided with kids back at school

justasking111 · 05/04/2021 21:19

Stomach problems are common with flu. Glad she's feeling a bit better

chickadeeeeeeeee · 06/04/2021 21:18

Glad you got confirmation and hope she continues to feel better over the coming days Smile
