Should I meet up with friends?

I saw 2 friends yesterday on a walk, when the one went home the other one started getting to involved in covid talk and was very pessimistic. I feel a bit down today. I want to meet up with people but why is it when they do meet they just want to put a dampener on things and talk about covid all of the time. Before the other friend left conversation was good. I want company but don’t know if it’s worth it if people are just going to be negative.

Tell them how you feel... that you want to feel like things are normal for a little while. No Covid talk. That is a perfectly reasonable thing to ask for.

I've banned Covid talk in my private life

Mum has trouble with it, others don't get in touch, which is fine, I don't need their covid talk.
