Which Vaccines, if any, are currently licensed for 16y olds?

My DH is CEV/shielding and was vaccinated in February under category 4. I've also been vaccinated. He's received a text today from our GP inviting household members of CEV people age 16 and up for a vaccination. We have a 16y old son at home with us and would like to recommend him for a vaccination if it's possible. He has no health conditions. I was under the impression that it wasn't available yet for 16y olds or did that change? Or was it just for 16y olds with a health condition prior to this? He does have a friend the same age whose mother told me a couple of weeks ago that he had been vaccinated, but he has severe asthma so I presumed it was due to that. Are they all licenced for 16y olds now?

I think pfizer is OK from age 16

Only Pfizer & AZ are available in the UK right now (even though Moderna has been approved).

Only Pfizer is approved at the moment for 16-18 year olds (in the UK).

Pfizer only at the moment I believe.

Although pfizer now say testing has gone well in 12-15 year olds and are testing younger age groups

Thanks all, I guess he'll get Pfizer then.

Definitely worth highlighting that you'll be bringing a 16 year old if they haven't asked you for names so they can make sure they've got the right vaccine in for him.

I'm watching CNN ,they are reporting that Pfizer is 100%effective for 12-15 year olds ,in stopping them getting Ill at obviously an American study ,but good to know .

Great news - yes I've spoken with them now its at the GP hub and they have a special clinic for the local under 18s so the pfizer there ready for them on that day. I hope he goes for it!
