I heard someone on five live being interviewed about it. Does sound very thorough tbh. They interviewed loads of people and watched hours of footage from all sorts of angles/ perspectives. Sounds like all was well until 6pm when a large group of people turned up intent on violence. I think the police should routinely post video footage of horrible behaviour from those intent on hijaking the cause so we can see the abuse the police have to put up with. Sounds like report was fairly critical of Sadiq Khan too.

Nihonko · 30/03/2021 18:41

They have reviewed body cameras worn by officers and camera footage from witnesses and the media. 2 weeks is ample time to review this. Will those who criticised the police perhaps reflect and consider they did not have a full picture of events and maybe apologise? Hmm

You can when it’s caused concern to the PM of the entire U.K. and he’s demanded it be the top priority....
sashagabadon · 30/03/2021 18:45

I’d like to see sadiq apologise. Must be very disheartening to not see your leaders stick up for you when policing these difficult situations where you’re damned either way.
Especially when they are responsible for the mixed messaging in the first place.

SirSamuelVimes · 30/03/2021 18:49

How the fuck can that be appropriate, when apparently it's also appropriate to stand back and allow a load of angry men to congregate outside a school (because of a drawing)???

Oh of course. Because we must never make men upset. Never inflame community tensions. But yeah, shit all over women because we know they won't fight back. Angry

Cheshirewife · 30/03/2021 19:13

Time for Sadiq and others to provide a full apology to the police.

The sheer amount of idiotic comments and unjustified criticism at the time was stunning - all on the word of a handful of anarchists who lined up to provide their distorted and dishonest accounts to the media.

No. I know what images I saw and they absolutely were not appropriate not that I expected anything other than a whitewash

PicsInRed · 30/03/2021 20:22

How embarrassing is that report, I'm embarrassed for them.

I'm still waiting to hear on how the alleged indecent exposure wasn't dealt with, despite identifying vehicle plates being provided by witnesses.

What's happening there? Is that even being investigated?

They're owed a major apology, but it's crickets.
