Astra Zeneca 2nd Jab Side Effects

If you had side effects after your first jab, how was your second? I felt utterly awful after my first. My second is booked in June on a Friday and we are booked to go away that afternoon to stay in an Airbnb and see family we haven't seen in a year. I'm worried I'm going to spend the weekend in bed. Or be too ill to even get there. But I can't rebook the jab without cancelling my appointment first.

Just wondering what people's experiences have been. Google seems to suggest fewer side effects with the second AZ jab...

My mother felt quite rough and flu-ey for a day after her first dose. She felt a bit tired and had a slightly raised temperature for about 12 hours after the 2nd.

A kaleidoscope eye thing happened to DH a couple of weeks ago and he hasn’t had the jab. I wonder whether it’s caused by Covid?

Visual migraines can cause it. Has he ever been tested for diabetes as it can also be a sign of hypoglygemia?

People really need to start going to see their GP if something's wrong. It doesn't matter if it happens at a similar time to a vaccine, is triggered by a vaccine, or you had no vaccine - GP is the one to determine if anything needs to be done to help you.

(Obviously not those who felt slightly flu-ey for 24 hours or had a mild headache for a few days.)

My mum suffered from amnesia a few days after having AstraZeneca. It was bloody horrible. We are trying to see if they’ll let her have a different vaccine for the second.

Has your symptom resolved now?

After my first AZ I felt rough for the whole next day and had to call in sick.

After the second, I got a headache at the end of the next day, but that's it.
