Vaccine yesterday, ill today

I'm just after some advice and reassurance to be honest. Had my vaccine yesterday afternoon, was fine last night. Woke up today with chills and vomiting. The vomiting has stopped but paracetamol isn't touching the fever. Should I expect this for much longer?
I know I can google etc but I suffer from anxiety anyway and don't want to go down that route unless you lovely lot can't help me Grin

What vaccine did you get? There is a percentage of people who fell unwell after it unfortunately. What are you taking for the fever? try alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen, keep the room cool and wear loose fitting clothes. Hopefully should pass in a day or two

SunshineCake · 25/03/2021 18:00

I'm two weeks on and occasionally feel tired and nauseous. I felt awful for the first three days after.

fizbosshoes · 25/03/2021 18:00

I've heard several people say they had fever, aches and flu-like symptoms for around a day, after the AZ jab.

FrasierCraneDay · 25/03/2021 18:02

Yes it was the AZ vaccine. I'll prepare for a rather rough weekend and hopefully will feel better soon. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful to have had it but man alive I feel like death

I had the AZ on Tuesday snd still feel rough. It's also stopped me from sleeping so that's made every side effect feel even worse

Dementedswan · 25/03/2021 18:04

I didn't have fever, but had muscle aches, arm was very sore, slight headache and nausea for 2 days then was OK, I'm two weeks post vaccine now.

Dolciedolly · 25/03/2021 18:08

I had it yesterday been in bed all day , tired , achy and chills, nausea and headache

catchingzzzeds · 25/03/2021 18:11

I had the AZ jab Tuesday evening, I slept badly Tuesday night and woke with a fever, body aches, nausea and dizziness which lasted most of Wednesday. Today I have a slight headache but feel much better.

FrasierCraneDay · 25/03/2021 18:11

Oh and af has appeared two sodding weeks early which I'm sure is a complete coincidence but it's pissed me off more Grin

Actually someone else mentioned AF turning up unexpectedly early just after AZ, can't remember if that was on here or a real life conversation I had! OP, if you have enough energy it would be good if you could report your side effects, I think it's called the yellow card although it's all doable online, somewhere on NHS website.

I felt fluey and yuk about twelve hours after AZ, which continued for about 24 hours, but paracetemol got me out of the house and I was able to walk the dogs. And the injection arm was definitely sore for another day or so after that. Chatting with various contemporary friends, probably about forty people, (we're mostly fifty something) about half of us have felt something, and a couple of people have definitely felt ill enough to go to bed for a couple of days. But we all feel happier to have had it.

whataballbag · 25/03/2021 18:23

The period isn't a coincidence there's been a few mentions of it.

I felt ropey as hell the day after the first AZ jab, and period came a week early

GrimDamnFanjo · 25/03/2021 18:25

Crikey I had AZ on Sunday and AF arrived on Tuesday about 10 days early...
I will report as it's noticeably odd.

Dementedswan · 25/03/2021 18:30

My period started two days after AZ , I'd had one two weeks previously, spotted the next week. That stopped when I stopped my new antidepressants. So I can't link it directly to the vaccine . Doc said due to other side effects of antidepressants that one is not suitable for me and switched it.

FrasierCraneDay · 25/03/2021 18:43

Hmm doesn't sound like a coincidence then, I'll try and find how to report it

I had AZ 10 days ago, woke up the next day feeling quite under the weather and had a bad headache (I hardly ever have them). I felt fine by the afternoon though. Arm a wee bit sore for a few days too. DH (constitution of an ox and never ails anything) also felt pretty rough day after AZ.

dontsaveusername · 25/03/2021 20:50

It was over in a day.
