Why do people recommend that you drink plenty of water after having a Covid vaccine? I see this advised a lot but I’m not sure of the reason why. Thank you.

I haven't seen this anywhere!

Typical side effects seem to be a fever/raised temp and headache - keeping your fluid intake up will help to alleviate both symptoms.

I got an extremely dry mouth about 12 hours after the vaccine, so much so that I couldn't sleep as my mouth felt so dry I could hardly swallow, I couldn't stay in bed because of it so had an uncomfortable sleepless night, it got better the following morning and I don't know if maybe this could have been avoided by drinking more, this wasn't mentioned to me at the vaccine hub

Being well hydrated is good for just about any situation, so definitely try to keep up drinking fluids. Headaches are worse if you are dehydrated.
