I'm 5 days away from getting the vaccine. I have stayed home an entire year except for walking my dog in the most remote spots I could find & medical appointments. Youngest DS picked it up at school (Y12). I'm terrified. Became symptomatic yesterday. Positive result today. I'm aching and coughing with a bit of a headache. I'm terrified. Please tell me your positive outcome Covid stories or just take my mind off this shit show.

I had it in December. I’m a teacher (with asthma) and my partner was listed as CEV at the time and was shielding and had it too.

We were both ok. Very tired and achy but it passed

I felt better after about 3 weeks of mild symptoms but quite bad fatigue and a constant headache. Despite my asthma I had no breathing issues. I have a few lasting symptoms (smell went, came back and is now only back partially) and I genuinely think it affected my memory (I constantly say I have ‘covid brain’ when I forget things!

Partner felt a bit worse than me - mainly just very tired and joint pains but she does have an autoimmune disorder. She also tested positive still for 3 months. She is now fine now also.

Get yourself an oximeter to monitor your oxygen and heart rate as this will help you to check all is ok (you can feel fine even when your heart rate / oxygen is not)

Try not to be anxious - I know the figures are scary but most people are ok. Rest well and recover gently.

Hope you are feeling better now OP?

Hi op, I was added as ecv few weeks ago yet I had it mild back in January.
My main issue was anxiety brought by testing positive. The biggest physical symptom for me was getting stomach cramps every time I ate or drank anything for a few days, followed by a reduced appetite. Which recently stopped but I lost a lot of weight (which I really needed to lose).

Hope you and your family are well op
