I'm just watching Towie and all of them still look immaculate hair, nails and lashes. I look like a complete slob.

Whooooa - is there a new series of TOWIE???

Rosehip10 · 24/03/2021 14:49

Nicola sturgeon is definitely getting hair cuts and styling.

@Rosehip10

Nicola sturgeon is definitely getting hair cuts and styling.
She’s been pretty active on social media cutting and dying her own hair.
BarbaraofSeville · 24/03/2021 14:59

She's also been given instruction by her regular hairdresser.

There seems to be quite a lot of interest in Nicola Sturgeon's hair.

As soon as I started to google 'who's cutting N' it completed the search straight away with nicola sturgeon's hair Grin

Plus I'm sure that NS will have been able to have at least one professional cut in the last year, as hairdressers will have been open some of the time, so it's not like she's gone that long without a proper cut.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 24/03/2021 15:26

Certainly.

But no instructions in the world will make you grow arms long enough to cut the back and won’t make you grow eyes on the back of your head so you can see what exactly you’re cutting.

If Nicola manages that, and hers is a precision cut, then shes certainly extremely accomplished.

Not with her cut. It’s very precise and tidy.

I had my teens hair done with a barber. The barber is making a mint as he's doing loads a day. Fair plays. What he got in the self employed grant was nothing compared to working 12 hour days 5 days a week.

assuming you're in the UK he's definitely acting illegally and if caught would be given a hefty fine.
minniemoocher · 24/03/2021 16:08

One of the newsreaders worked at a hairdressers in her youth, she apparently has been advising her colleagues (can't remember which one). Plenty of visible roots on show. I suspect some have dp's or other household members doing hair, nails etc.

EvaporatedHour · 24/03/2021 16:37

It really pisses me off! It's just another way that wealthy people haven't been affected by lockdown, just like the hoardes of them that fucked off to Dubai.

BluntlySpoken · 24/03/2021 17:28

Yes in the UK. He's not been caught in a year as far as I know. And tbh if he got the fine it's probably a drop in the ocean to what he's making daily. I don't know him personally but my cousin does and has told him.

MercyBooth · 24/03/2021 18:15

There is a scientist called Linda Bauld who appears on TV from Scotland quite often...........still sporting a perfectly symmetrical bob.

Cloudyrainsham · 24/03/2021 19:02

Towie are taking the P**s. The clubs and restaurants don’t bother me. They just filmed there, but how did Pete and Ella have too much to drink and end up kissing, in the middle of a pandemic, obvious doing to happen but why tell everyone on national television when some people haven’t seen family for a year. Also Diags was in Chloe’s kitchen in one scene.

Meltinthemiddle · 24/03/2021 19:33

Yes they are still filming in each others houses. And don't even get me started on the holidays. It just seems so unfair. I look a tramp in work and would benefit from a good make over.

A friend of mine has a nanny who used to be a hairdresser and beautician, so does her nails once a week while the baby is sleeping, and sorts her hair out once a month.

She has never looked so good working from home.
The rest of us are quite jealous Envy

Spillanelle · 24/03/2021 19:41

Yup, I know someone who was on a TV show recently and had their hair and makeup done. If the filming is going ahead then I guess it makes sense that that all of the parts of the production will do. I’m sure will they have covid testing.

RosieGirl27 · 24/03/2021 19:54

My SIL is a hairdresser and I’m in a bubble with my in laws so my hair has been cut. But the celebs are able to have their hair and make up teams because they are special :)

Abraxan · 24/03/2021 19:56

@ParkheadParadise

My neighbours had her hair and nails done in lockdown. Her hairdresser goes to her house.
I know a couple of people who are doing this; totally against the rules of course.

I declined the offer of them coming to my house to do mine. I just bought a box dye instead.

Some explaining to do Home Office
£107K at eyebrow company
£864 at hairdressers during lockdown
£5K at Primark would buy most of floor’s stock
£8K at Pollyanna restaurant is some party
£37Bn on Track & Trace
It’s not good enough to say they followed process
This is public money

poppycat10 · 26/03/2021 22:01

Some newsreaders have visible roots - Laura Kunnesburg and Sophie Raworth

Yes I'd not noticed her roots but I was going to mention that Sophie Raworth's hair is getting very long. Definitely not getting secret cuts.

Dd's boyfriend is a barber. Skint and miserable but at least he's doing the right thing by not being a selfish fucker.
GrumpyHoonMain · 26/03/2021 22:55

I live in an area with mostly BAME families. Locally many mobile hairdressers are often full or part time carers doing agency work. Even before Lockdown they would offer their services (for a fee) to the families of their clients and they seem to have continued.

I don’t think that’s wrong. It’s BAME people who get disadvantaged when they video interview with long overgrown hair / beards / visible facial hair (for girls). Life hasn’t stopped just because Lockdown started it’s just changed. For a working BAME woman like me who can grow a full beard in a matter of weeks having access to a beautician to remove facial hair or a hair dresser to cut my aboriginal hair so it doesn’t look ‘wild’ as ex-colleages have sometimes described it, is critical for me to do my job effectively. This is something I feel a lot of white British people just don’t get. If they did these services would never have been closed during Lockdown.

Dolciedolly · 26/03/2021 23:05

Yep my hairdresser is the hairdresser for Amy Childs or is disgraceful

MercyBooth · 26/03/2021 23:05

@GrumpyHoonMain I get it. Im half Italian and my chin hair is black and now long and curly. It was last waxed on 10th March last year.
