Post vaccine blood worried!

I had my Covid vaccine yesterday and afterwards my arm bled a little. I'm now worried that the vaccine came out with the blood. I feel perfectly normal this morning which is adding to my anxiety.
I've trawled google but can't find any answers. So do any Mumsnet people know if my vaccine went in okay? I worry greatly about everything Covid related. Thank you very much.

I think that’s normal. A needle went in your arm so a little bleed is to be expected. The vaccine is delivered deeply into the right spot, it won’t have leaked out. Also it’s ok to not have a reaction. Some have mild reactions some have none. Hopefully someone with medical knowledge will be along and can reassure you more.

Thinking logically about the way blood flows, it goes in one direction so the vaccine will have gone off merrily on its way and the blood coming out will be coming in the same direction but from behind the hole going in the same direction iyswim

You will be fine. A lot of people have a bit of blood loss due to existing conditions. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly.

Thank you everyone. I know I'm being completely ridiculous but it's so kind of you to reassure me. Smile

Got mine today! Excited.

I can totally see the logic in this concern. However, bleeding is not uncommon and will have happened to people in the clinical trials, and the people who are in the real world data eg in Israel, Scotland and England etc which forms the evidence for the vaccine’s effectiveness. You don’t need to worry.

I was really quite rough after mine, DO who had it the same time had not one after effect
Some people's immune response is noisy and performative, some people's does what it needs to quietly.
Don't worry you'll be protected.

That’s funny @Tiktokersmiracle

My arm bled a little after my vaccine, felt like death warmed up for 24 hours after so safe to say it got in there Grin Some people are lucky and have no reaction, my DM didnt have any side effects until 3 days later. Everyone is different try not to worry

OpheliasCrayon · 21/03/2021 14:17

It's fine.
I inject myself multiple times a week with medications and have done for years. Blood coming out after is normal and doesn't mean any of the vaccine has come out

Thank you everyone for all your reassurance. I am now confident the jab went in because now I feel pretty unwell and am tucked up in bed. Strange times!

Lucozade! Works wonders. My mate is a nurse and when I went for mine, she knows what a wimp I am about feeling ill and she said to buy some lucozade and paracetamol. Really helped me out.
