Not sure if I should get a vaccine tomorrow

Hi, I’m not the usual poster but has been lurking here for a while. I’ve got a COVID vaccine scheduled for tomorrow. I was really excited and looking forward to it however for the last two days I’ve been experiencing mild cold symptoms such as headache, slight shivers, fatigue. Nothing major, no temperature at all. However it’s still enough to make me feel tired and not 100%. I’m now not sure whether I should still get a vaccination, the guidelines say that if it is mild cold then still to go ahead with it.
Btw I tested myself with lateral flow test yesterday and it was negative.

I don’t have the three main symptoms only the ones I described in my original post. Thanks everyone for your replies, I’ll see how I feel in the morning and go from there.

Jeez I’m fit and well and worried about the side effects , I wouldn’t be getting my vaccine tomorrow if I was feeling off!

TyotyaKlava · 19/03/2021 19:20

I’m not worried about side effects in a slightest, my husband had his vaccine a few weeks ago and felt unwell for a day. I’m sure I can cope.

I had muscles aches, headache and tiredness for a couple days. Arm was sore for 5 days. Nothing rest, couple paracetamol and the knowledge I had a vaccine in my arm couldn't cope with.

Only you know how unwell your feeling OP. If you genuinely are feeling shivery then I'd get a PCR test, its not really lying because if there's a chance you have covid then you should get a test.

You don't have Covid symptoms, you likely have a cold. All my kids have colds since schools reopened. I would urge you to have the vaccine. If you don't have a temperature or cough they will still vaccinate you.
After we finished vaccinating group 9 things may slow down for a while so I would take it whilst the option is still there.

I'm a vaccinator by the way x

Reginafalange, thanks for your advise. No, I don’t have the three standard COVID symptoms, just headache and slight shivers (not enough to be curled up under the blanket), feel tired but not tired enough to not cook food for the family. Still got great appetite (annoyingly, as I managed to polish lots of sweets out of potty for myself 😂). So yes, I will see how I feel tomorrow. As you said, I don’t really want to miss an opportunity to get a vaccine as I feel lucky enough to have been invited as I’m not in the priority groups.

@TyotyaKlava did you have your vaccine? How did it go?

TyotyaKlava · 20/03/2021 18:13

Yes I had my vaccine. I felt ok this morning, shivers had been gone when I woke up, so I thought I’ll go. It was all fine none checked my temperature and asked how I felt btw.
Six hours post vaccine now, feeling quite fatigued but nothing else majour.
