What news?

SillyOldMummy · 19/03/2021 10:11

Well, if you are anxious you probably are not sleeping too well and worrying- all of which might make you feel headachey.

Why not call 111 and ask them if you should contact your GP again?

Meantime have plenty of water to drink - dehydration makes clotting more likely and more problematic.

PurpleMustang · 19/03/2021 10:11

I'd probably ring 111 for advice

MiaFarrowsWheelbarrow · 19/03/2021 10:12

If I have a low lying headache like this I take two paracetamol and drink lots of water, have a short nap and usually feel much better afterwards. I think the water and nap are better than paracetamol to be fair.

activitythree · 19/03/2021 10:12

Also if your eyes are sometimes fuzzy and you are having headaches you should go to your optician.

StripedLeopard · 19/03/2021 10:13

Visiting the optician would be a good start

TakeYourFinalPosition · 19/03/2021 10:15

I wouldn’t freak out. It’s headaches immediately after the vaccine that they’re concerned about, yours was a good two weeks afterwards. DH had a headache that lasted four days after his, so we’ve been briefed on what to expect incase it didn’t go away!

I’d second a trip to the opticians, but also your anxiety may well be triggering your headache now. It’s not uncommon for bad anxiety to manifest as physical symptoms.

Seeline · 19/03/2021 10:18

The advice is if you have had a headache for more than four days following your vaccination. It sounds as though your headache started more than 2 weeks after you had your vaccination? Therefore it would seem to be completely unconnected.

activitythree · 19/03/2021 10:19

@bumbleymummy

Thanks. I hadn't seen.

OP you have contacted your GP, which is what the news is asking you to do. I don't know why you mention hospital in your post, you are not even needing painkillers so you definitely don't need to be going to hospital.

Bordois · 19/03/2021 10:27

I get this every month now - they're hormonal migraines in my case, low level headache with fuzzy vision.

Perimenopause sucks

See this is the problem with all the media focus on vaccine side effects - people struggle with risk weighting generally never mind when things are blown out of proportion.

"Freaking out over this", is the equivalent of walking out of your front door, looking up, seeing dark (rain) clouds, and thinking, "Oh Shit! I might get struck by lightning today!"

As far as your symptoms go, try taking some antacids, avoiding alcohol for a few days or eating just before bed and see if that improves things.

Dowser · 19/03/2021 11:31

Garlic is a natural blood thinner
So is crateagus...hawthorn
Bioforce sell crateagus
I’d take those if worried
Aspirin with food if desperately worried
PLenty of water
1/2 oz for each pound of body weight..most of us are very dehydrated
Someone I know said to take a big drink of water before bed and take a pint with you to bed and drink a good amount of that if you wake up
Apparently we should be having a good per every couple of hours
During the day

Cornettoninja · 19/03/2021 13:09

@dowser I don’t think that’s great advice considering the specific presentation concerning the vaccine is a specific blood clot in conjunction with low platelets (so thin blood).

Speak to your doctor, 111 or 119 @Llh1979 and they’ll either look at you further or reassure you.

SpnBaby1967 · 19/03/2021 13:57

Why do you think you need hospital? Confused

Pop some paracetamol, make sure you're hydrated and get some sleep.

It's not going to be vaccine related, your 3 weeks post jab!

activitythree · 19/03/2021 14:03

@Cornettoninja

OP has already spoken to the Doctor Confused

kirinm · 19/03/2021 14:04

I have a headache since my vaccination on Saturday. It's a bit better today but I've been taking paracetamol most days which is not normal for me.

Should I be concerned?

kirinm · 19/03/2021 14:40

I called my GP who said to try and make an appointment for Monday or call 111. Called 111 and they've said a clinician will call me. Trying to not panic. Surely I'd know if it was something bad by now?!

Yes I know, on Tuesday, so it’s reasonable enough to call them again if she’s still concerned.

My main point was not to take/give advice on blood thinners on the internet though.
