Long covid and the vaccine

Anyone had the AstraZeneca vaccine and still suffering from long covid? I’m booked next week and a bit scared. I’m under 40 and keep reading that younger people react strongly even more so if they’ve had covid before. I was first infected with Covid last March and I’m still suffering chest pain and fatigue a year on but I am much improved.

The original covid infection was terrifying for me, I was very unwell, in hospital twice and I’m scared of reliving that feeling (if that’s what it’s like with the vaccine) but of course see the advantages of vaccination and I’m pleased I have been offered it. I’m not sure why I’m getting being offered it early but I have asthma so most likely that.

I think there is some evidence that getting the vaccine helps improve symptoms of Long covid. Can't remember where I read it now, but there were at least a couple of papers about it. So you might find that things get better.

I should say I am definitely pro vaccine, I’m just hoping some who have had it can reassure me that it wasn’t that bad!
