Offered the vaccine and not sure why?!

I’ve had a text with a link to book my vaccine. I’m 31. The text has come from the hospital I had my twins at last year (not my local). I did have bad pre-eclampsia but have no other factors making me high risk. I don’t think it’s a mistake but don’t want to jump the queue...
Has anyone else had this in a similar situation? Does having a baby make you eligible for earlier vaccine?

Just have it. It’s not worth bothering anyone with trying to look up if it’s correct or not.

Lots of young people have been called for no apparent reason, presumably their surgeries and trusts are just getting through the lists more quickly. Don't waste time and resources calling them up asking about the whys and wherefores. Just take the appointment and be grateful (I'd say enjoy but vaccinations are never fun!).

I got called for my vaccine the other week, (age 39) no high risk factors that would class as group 6. I had major jaw surgery 8 years ago so unless I was put in that category due to the amount of previous hospital appointments, didn't question it as our GP is super busy so just turned up and got it out the way.

Oh I will definitely have it. I’m thrilled I can have it so soon, and won’t be wasting anyones time by asking why I’ve had the text :)

Happened to me , nurse giving jab did not know , I spoke to dr and they said their phone data has been taken by central government who are in charge of sending texts , we came to conclusion it was a blip

I'm 29 and got texted today. Text came from the hospital (not my local) rather than GP or general NHS. Mild asthma which I've never been hospitalised for. Had an operation 2 years ago but just to remove a non cancerous cyst so no risk there. Know a few others my age who have also been contacted but no clear reason.

This needs to be an automatic response every time this question is asked, it comes up most days Smile

Just take it. It’s a mass vaccination programme, some people will get called early. Querying it just slows down the system.

somewheresorted · 17/03/2021 18:21

After the news today just take it! Don’t question it

JorisBonson · 17/03/2021 18:22

I got a text from the NHS at the weekend saying I was eligible due to underlying health conditions. I do have some, but mild and was never told to shield etc. Had my jab today 👍

Redskyyy · 17/03/2021 18:34

I’m booked in for Saturday :). Normal bmi and no other risk factors (that I know of). Having spoken to a couple of friends who are the same age/ have had it already, I think it’s because I have under 1s.
